iHeartMedia Yearlong Celebration To Honor '50 Years Of Hip-Hop'

iHEARTMEDIA will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop across multiple platforms and events with its "iHEARTRADIO PRESENTS: 50 YEARS OF HIP-HOP" yearlong series of programming, highlighting Hip-Hop and its impact on society and culture across radio, streaming, podcast and national events.
The celebration kicks off in FEBRUARY with a 12-part iHEARTPODCAST series, "50 YEARS OF HIP-HOP," hosted by FAB 5 FREDDY; the company will also commemorate BLACK HISTORY MONTH with custom vignettes featuring artists including 50 CENT, DIDDY, E-40, FRENCH MONTANA, GLORILLA, ICE CUBE, NLE CHOPPA, T.I., TOOSII, YOUNG DRO, and more across its broadcast stations and on the iHEARTRADIO App.
In MARCH, iHEARTRADIO will honor DEF JAM RECORDINGS during the iHEARTRADIO MUSIC AWARDS and will will highlight the women of Hip-Hop as part of its celebration of INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY.
Throughout the SPRING and SUMMER, and in conjunction with BLACK MUSIC MONTH in JUNE, the company's radio stations will feature vignettes highlighting how Hip-Hop has inspired some of today’s artists, and in AUGUST, "iHEARTRADIO’S LIVING BLACK!" will return to celebrating the power of Black culture and its impact on the world, with a special produced by EMMY and GRAMMY winner RIKKI HUGHES promoted on over 550 iHEART stations.
The event will culminate with special tributes at the 2023 iHEARTRADIO MUSIC FESTIVAL in SEPTEMBER and at the iHEARTRADIO JINGLE BALL TOUR 2023 in DECEMBER.
