The severe weather which has included torrential rains, mudslides, and high winds in the Golden State has forced several radio stations to lose their signals intermittently.
As of Tuesday (1/17), a banner on the CALIFORNIA LUTHERAN UNIVERSITY News-Talk KCLU-A/SANTA BARBARA-KCLU-F/THOUSAND OAKS website said, “Because of the recent storms KCLU’s 102.3 signal in SANTA BARBARA is intermittently off the air, but there is a variety of other ways to listen to KCLU.” MONTECITO FM, INC. Rock KJEE SANTA BARBARA had signal issues last week but is back on the air. A number of radio stations in the SANTA BARBARA area have dealt with transmitter and other issues after a power outage impacted the transmission towers on GIBRALTER PEAK, and it took time for crews to bring in diesel fuel to power the backup generators after the main road became impassable, impacting both radio and cell signals in the area.
KCLU is asking listeners to tune in to their AM station or online, or on the KCLU app.
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON is still reporting as of Tuesday (1/17) afternoon a number of continued power outages in an area from SANTA BARBARA to LOS ANGELES.
