The nominees for the 52nd Annual JUNO AWARDS are out, announced TODAY (1/31) by THE CANADIAN ACADEMY OF RECORDING ARTS AND SCIENCES (CARAS), and THE WEEKND, AVRIL LAVIGNE and TATE McRAE lead with the most. THE WEEKED earned six nominations, while LAVIGNE and McRAE both have five. Triple nominees this year are NAV, PRESTON PABLO, REVE and Country duo THE REKLAWS.
This year’s winners will be unveiled at the show, taking place at ROGERS PLACE in EDMONTON, ALBERTA on MONDAY, MARCH 13th, and airing live on CBC.
CARAS has also announced that three more of this year’s nominees will join the lineup of performers taking the stage at the JUNO AWARDS broadcast. They are Rock band ALEXISONFIRE, multi-instrumentalist, producer and singer songwriter AYSANABEE, and R&B artist JESSIE REYEZ.
NEIL LUMSDEN, Minister/Tourism, Culture and Sport for the PROVINCE OF ONTARIO, said, “The JUNOS provide a platform to highlight CANADA’s most talented musical artists, and I am honoured to have this opportunity to congratulate all of the nominees for the 2023 awards. Last year, we had the pleasure of hosting the awards here in ONTARIO, and I know our friends in EDMONTON, ALBERTA, will roll out the red carpet in style for this year’s celebrations.”
