The NEW YORK POST is reporting that LEHIGH VALLEY IRON PIGS minor league baseball play-by-play voice PATRICK MCCARTHY will be joining the NEW YORK METS as pre-game and post-game radio host and fill-in play-by-play announcer. MCCARTHY's father TOM, presently the television voice of the PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES on NBC SPORTS PHILADELPHIA and NBC O&O WCAU-TV (NBC 10)/PHILADELPHIA and a WESTWOOD ONE NFL announcer, called METS games in 2006-07. PATRICK MCCARTHY would replace the departed BRAD HELLER as the METS" studio host on AUDACY News WCBS-A/NEW YORK.
The POST recently reported that BROOKLYN CYCLONES announcer KEITH RAAD will be filling the second play-by-play slot left vacant by WAYNE RANDAZZO's exit to join the LOS ANGELES ANGELS; the current report indicates that both RAAD and MCCARTHY have agreed to terms but have yet to sign contracts.
