Longtime midday personality MEGAN RYTE has resigned her spot at MEDIACO Top 40/Rhythmic WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK.
RYTE took to her INSTAGRAM account to post the news, saying, "With growth comes change, and after 8 years it’s time for me to move on." RYTE went on to add, "NYC it’s been an honor being your voice for middays on HOT and lighting up these turntables. And it’s been an honor being a part of Hip Hop History."
RYTE has been appearing on ABC's GOOD MORNING AMERICA and has other TV/film opportunities in her future.
WQHT (HOT 97)/NEW YORK SVP/Operations & Content PIO FERRO noted to staffers, "Today, we share some bittersweet news – after almost 8 years with the HOT 97 family, MEGAN RYTE has made the decision to focus all of her efforts in pursuit of her TV and film career. We appreciate what she has brought to the station over the years, so please join us in wishing MEGAN all the best in her future endeavors."
No word from HOT 97 on who would be succeeding RYTE on the air.
