College Radio Foundation Names Winners Of Next Step Radio Scholarships

The COLLEGE RADIO FOUNDATION has named the first five recipients of its Next Step Radio Scholarships. The program for aspiring broadcasters is funded by the CRF's annual Vinylthon event; each scholar will receive $2,000 to further their careers in radio.
“We know that the radio industry is concerned about where the upcoming talent is, and we want to provide a solution, by supporting our brightest and best hopes for the future,” said CRF/Vinylthon founder Dr. ROB QUICKE. “It’s a great start, but we want to do more to support the next generation of radio stars.”
The five honorees are MONMOUTH COLLEGE Variety WPFS-LP (PROUD FIGHTING SCOTS RADIO)/MONMOUTH, IL Station Mgr. JANICE ABEL; UCLA RADIO/LOS ANGELES Programming Co-Manager LUCAS CHEN; STONY BROOK UNIVERSITY Variety WUSB/STONY BROOK, NY Pres./PD MELANIE FORMOSA; and GOSHEN COLLEGE Variety WGCS (91.1 THE GLOBE)/GOSHEN, IN Student Station Mgr. AMELIA TURNBULL and Sports Dir. DANTE STANTON.
The next Vinylthon will take place APRIL 22-23.
