ERIC "BUBBA BO" BOULANGER, who was on the CINCINNATI airwaves for four decades, died FRIDAY (2/3) of brain cancer at the age of 66. He was remembered by his peers who spoke to WVXU NEWS as a "giant elf" with a quick wit, generous soul, appreciation for listeners and dedication to informing late-night truck drivers.
Most recently working full time as morning host at WAGON WHEEL BROADCASTING WSCH (EAGLE COUNTRY 99.3)/AURORA, IN, BOULANGER announced his retirement in MARCH of 2021 after 16 years with the station (NET NEWS 3/21).
The MASSACHUSETTS native had been an OHIO-INDIANA-KENTUCKY Tri-State radio personality for nearly 40 years, joining WCKY-AM/INDIANAPOLIS in 1982 as a sports reporter. In 1986, he joined Country WUBE/CINCINNATI, and worked there for 15 years, followed by Country WYGY/CINCINNATI for two before joining WSCH in 2005. Additionally, BOULANGER began a one-hour recorded show for WLW/CINCINNATI's AMERICA'S TRUCKIN' NETWORK in JANUARY of 2021 (NET NEWS 1/20/21), after working on and off with the company throughout the years.
He retired from WSCH on his 65th birthday in 2021, and from his one-hour midnight show on WLW last year. He was diagnosed with cancer last JULY, and went into hospice before CHRISTMAS.
