Report: WWZN/Boston Dropping Local Shows

SPORTING NEWS RADIO has reportedly pulled the plug on Sports WWZN-A (1510 THE ZONE)/BOSTON's local shows. The station's afternoon trio "THE DIEHARDS" indicated on THURSDAY's show (10/27) that they would likely not be back for FRIDAY, and the BOSTON GLOBE reports that the rest of the local hosts, including market sports radio pioneer EDDIE ANDELMAN (whose show, which was supposed to return from vacation, did not air FRIDAY), are to be told FRIDAY about their fate. The local shows would be replaced by the network's syndicated fare; WWZN had been the CELTICS flagship until this season, when crosstown WRKO-A took over the rights.
