The FCC issues a flurry of proposed fines, including three for public file violations, hitting RADIO ONE (WFUN/BETHALTO-ST. LOUIS) and JOURNAL (KFAQ-A/TULSA) with $4,000 fines each and CUMBERLAND COMMUNITIES COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION (WDVX/CLINTON, TN) for $10,000. The Commission also proposed a $1,500 fine against NEW LIFE EVANGELISTIC CENTER INC. (KTCN/EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) and $7,000 fines against CANAAN COMMUNICATIONS INC. (WQSE-A/WHITE BLUFF, TN) and SPRING ARBOR UNIVERSITY (W258AH/KALAMAZOO) for failure to timely file their license renewal applications.
And the Commission rejected J.C. OLSZOWKA's challenge to SALEM's renewal of the license of Religion WYLL-A/CHICAGO over perceived political bias.
