NASHVILLE music industry veteran and famed producer TONY BROWN was awarded the title of Honorary Visiting Professor by MIDDLE TENNESSEE STATE UNIVERSITY's Department of Recording Industry this week (4/3). MTSU Professor BOB WOOD said, "TONY BROWN has generously given his time over the years supporting the education of our recording industry students. We are grateful for his continuing commitment to our program and we are proud to honor him with this award."
The honor was given at the completion of a lecture BROWN was giving to students as part of a series that was recently renamed the BRIAN WILLIAMS ENTERTAINMENT STUDIES LECTURE SERIES. WILLIAMS was the head of the MUSIC ROW branch of SUNTRUST BANK and was very involved in the music industry. He died this past JUNE (NET NEWS 7/10) in a drowning accident.
