National Radio Revs Jump 4% in September

The RAB reports that national and local radio revenues in SEPTEMBER rose 4% and 1%, respectively, over SEPTEMBER ’04, for a combined 2% revenue increase. Additionally, non-spot revenues rose 4% for the month over last year’s period.
For Q3 2005, local ad dollars grew 1% compared to the same quarter from a year ago, while national ad sales remained flat. Total combined local and national revenue for Q3 2005 rose by 1% compared to last year.
On a year-to-date basis, radio saw both national and local revenues rise 1% over last year. Non-spot revenue remained flat for the first 9 months of 2005 compared to the first nine months of 2004. Grand total combined spot and non-spot sales climbed 1% for the period over last year.
