CBS Sports KILT-A (SPORTSRADIO 610)/HOUSTON morning co-host JOHN GRANATO is suing CBS for breach of contract and to have his six-month noncompete vacated. GRANATO's contract runs through NOVEMBER 30. He claims that he is owed money by the station and that the station has not compensated him for the noncompete clause as required by TEXAS law.
GRANATO's attorney TERRY YATES tells the HOUSTON CHRONICLE that GRANATO will continue on the job at KILT while the case pends. The station previously lost a similar case brought by CHARLIE PALLILO, who won a 2004 case to invalidate his noncompete clause for lack of consideration, allowing him to move to crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Sports KBME-A.
