SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO is taking liquor advertising, reports the NEW YORK TIMES, carrying a 2 1/2-minute ad for TANQUERAY that is appearing on the system's MAXIM, OUTQ, and SPORTS BYLINE channels (the paper also lists CRACKED-UP COMEDY as carrying the spot, although that channel was renamed "LAUGH BREAK" at the end of SEPTEMBER). XM has previously accepted liquor ads; the article notes that the broadcast TV networks (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, UPN, and THE WB) are the last holdouts refueing to take commercials for distilled spirits.
