What's happening with CBS Talk WFNY-F (92.3 FREE FM)/NEW YORK "THE DOGHOUSE" middayers JV AND ELVIS? With the station and protestors scheduled to meet today (5/4), a message on the pair's page at the station's website now says, "As reported in the news media: The OCA (ORGANIZATION OF CHINESE AMERICANS) met with CBS to decide the fate of JV and ELVIS in NYC today. The outcome? JV & ELVIS are still suspended INDEFINITELY. Next week there will be guest hosts from 9a-noon.
"And that's all she wrote... for now..."
JEFF VANDERGRIFT and DAN (ELVIS) LAY have been off the air since their suspension for a prank phone call bit involving Chinese restaurants that aired on APRIL 5 and again two weeks later. VANDERGRIFT, who is married to an Asian woman, apologized on the air, but CBS chose to suspend the duo and continue to hold them off the air.
Look for former HOWARD STERN sidekick and former station overnighter CABBIE to fill in on MONDAY and TUESDAY of next week, then former WKLS (96 ROCK)/ATLANTA "REGULAR GUYS" co-host LARRY WACHS the rest of next week and possibly the following week.
