JERRY MCGEE, a Northern CALIFORNIA radio fixture for more than a half-century, died MONDAY at his REDDING home after a long illness, reports REDDING.COM. He was 78. MCGEE debuted on KRDG in REDDING as a disc jockey in 1957. MCGEE’s "Jumpin’ Jukebox" and "Market Street Record Party" earned him the everlasting gratitude of the younger generation eager to hear the latest ELVIS PRESLEY records. More recently, MCGEE, a former owner of KSHA, did voiceovers and production work.
Funeral arrangements for MCGEE are pending at ALLEN & DAHL Funeral Chapel in REDDING. Survivors include wife EULALIA; sons JERRY JR. and PATRICK; daughters STEPHANIE ACEVEDO, BRIDGET ROSE and ELIZABETH; sister NORMA KENNEDY; and 10 grandchildren.
