JOURNAL Talk WTMJ-A/MILWAUKEE morning co-host KEN HERRERA has exited the station, reports the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL-SENTINEL's TIM CUPRISIN.
And JOURNAL has now confirmed that sister Hot AC WKTI morning host GENE MUELLER is HERRERA's replacement as JOHN JAGLER's co-host on WTMJ's "WISCONSIN'S MORNING NEWS." MUELLER, who co-hosted mornings at WKTI since 1982 alongside the recently retired BOB REITMAN and most recently solo, previously worked at WQFM/MILWAUKEE, WSPT-A & F and WWSP/STEVENS POINT, and WHBL-A & F/SHEBOYGAN.
SVP/GM JON SCHWEITZER says, "We are fortunate to have the caliber of personality such as GENE MUELLER. He has been with our company for a long time, so it is great to be able to focus his talents and take advantage of his news credibility on the biggest news station in the state. His passion for WISCONSIN sports, news, pop culture, and local events will be a perfect match for WTMJ."
Mathew Blades, Erin Austin, AJ Take Over WKTI Mornings
And as rumored, KWLI (92.5 THE WOLF)/DENVER afternoon host MATHEW BLADES will take over for MUELLER at WKTI, with KSD (93.7 THE BULL)/ST. LOUIS personality ERIN AUSTIN as co-host and BLADES' former WWZZ (Z104)/WASHINGTON co-worker AJ as co-host/Exec Producer. The new show starts MAY 29, and the trio will host the station's "A TO Z MEMORIAL WEEKEND" on MEMORIAL DAY weekend.
