CENTRAL FLORIDA EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION Christian AC WPOZ (Z88.3)/ORLANDO recently partnered with ORANGE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT to host a hurricane expo in ORLANDO. Counties from across Central FLORIDA along with 100 vendors were on hand to help listeners learn, prepare and keep themselves safe in the upcoming hurricane season. The free expo ran last SATURDAY and SUNDAY (MAY 19-20) with almost 3,000 people in attendance.
“Partnering with this expo made perfect sense since we have already had a named storm before the 2007 hurricane season officially begins,” said PD/OM DEAN O’NEAL.
WPOZ also recently partnered with FLORIDA HOSPITAL CENTRA CARE to offer three free “GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT FOR HEALTH” events during the month of MAY. Each event offered free health screenings for cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, bone density, cancer prevention, nutrition and more, as well as offered free mini massages, manicures, snacks and entertainment. Over 1,500 women attended the three events.
