Democracy Radio Shutters After Athans' Departure

In the wake of CEO TOM ATHANS' departure to join AIR AMERICA RADIO, DEMOCRACY RADIO is ceasing operations. 

ATHANS posted a farewell statement on the DEMOCRACY RADIO website saying that his departure "will mean the end of DEMOCRACY RADIO as an organization, but certainly not its work and purpose which I will carry on at AIR AMERICA. There's no question that unified as one, we will achieve so much more than we ever could as competitors." 

DEMOCRACY launched ED SCHULTZ and STEPHANIE MILLER into syndication through JONES RADIO NETWORKS; both shows continue with JONES (DEMOCRACY sold its interest in SCHULTZ to P1 several months ago; MILLER is produced by RON HARTENSTEIN's WYD).
