Vikki Locke Resigns From Star 94

LINCOLN Top 40 WSTR (STAR 94)/ATLANTA "STEVE & VIKKI In The Morning" co-host VIKKI LOCKE has resigned, effective at the end of her contract on DECEMBER 31. The ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION reports that LOCKE's decision was due to ongoing health concerns; LOCKE was hospitalized late last year for a blood clot in her arm (NET NEWS 12/4), and the newspaper reports that doctors have been unable to completely dissolve the clot or diagnose its origin.

"My husband and I have discussed it at length, and as he has told me, 'Your health is really the most important thing,'" LOCKE told the JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION. "I haven't been sleeping, and my schedule has been ultra-busy, which is just the nature of the beast in this business. I'm not blaming anyone but me for that. I just decided that I can't do this anymore."

GM MARK KANOV tells the paper, "We're certainly saddened. STEVE & VIKKI are in the top 1% of the top morning shows in this country. I couldn't be more proud of what they’ve accomplished."
