OFCOM Grants Swansea, Northallerton FM Licenses

OFCOM has awarded the new FM license for SWANSEA, WALES to SWANSEA BAY RADIO LTD., a partnership of TOWN AND COUNTRY BROADCASTING, HAVEN FM, and three individuals. The new station, headed by former SWANSEA SOUND/WAVE 96.4 PD ANDY GRIFFITHS, will program a gold/easy listening-plus-talk format aimed at the 35+ audience.

Also awarded by OFCOM: the new FM license for NORTHALLERTON, granted to BTN FM, headed by BRIAN MOWBRAY and backed by THE LOCAL RADIO COMPANY PLC. BTN plans an adult contemporary format aimed at 25-54 year olds.
