Can a sports league fine a radio announcer for on-air comments? The summer wood-bat collegiate baseball NORTHWOODS LEAGUE thinks so, and it's fined WATERLOO BUCKS broadcaster TIM HARWOOD $500 for questioning the league's "credibility." 

HARWOOD, who made the comments on FIFE COMMUNICATIONS Spanish KDNZ-A/CEDAR FALLS after the home team's manager, pitching coach, and two players were thrown out of SATURDAY night's loss to the ALEXANDRIA BEETLES, tells the WATERLOO-CEDAR FALLS COURIER that league President DICK RADATZ JR. called him MONDAY to talk about the comments and the league will be sending him a letter requiring payment by noon MONDAY; further similar actions would result in HARWOOD being barred from broadcasting the league's games. HARWOOD is employed by the team, not the radio station.

At WEDNESDAY's game, a group of four co-workers from HARWOOD's day job at THE TECHNOLOGY HUT took up a collection from fans to pay the fine.
