The SENATE COMMERCE COMMITTEE hasn't forgotten about broadcast indecency, and it's holding an "open forum" on the matter on NOVEMBER 29. No place or time have been announced, although Chairman TED STEVENS (R-AK) says the forum will be open to the public.
In addition, STEVENS told reporters TUESDAY that he is looking for another candidate for the seat on the FCC that's opening up with the upcoming exit of Commissioner KATHLEEN ABERNATHY. STEVENS said that his own Chief of Staff, LISA SUTHERLAND, is not an option because she "doesn't want to leave" STEVENS' staff and that while he's looking for a replacement candidate, "we haven't gotten one yet."
