ABC, Stan Freberg Among N.Y. Festivals Radio Award Winners

The NEW YORK FESTIVALS 2007 Radio Broadcasting Awards were presented on THURSDAY, and among the Grand Trophy winners were ABC NEWS RADIO (Best News Program, GIL GROSS' "AMERICA ON HIGH ALERT"), YOUTH RADIO BERKELEY (Best Information Program, "RACE IN YOUR FACE"), GCAP MEDIA (Best Entertainment Program, "THE BEATLES: LOVE"), and HEART 106.2/LONDON (Best Programming Format).
Among other winners, the CBC won two Gold, four Silver, and five Bronze World Medals and the title of "Radio Broadcaster of the Year." The Lifetime Achievement Award was been presented to legendary satirist, voice performer, and innovator STAN FREBERG.
In addition, LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA AC WLYF (101.5 LITE FM)/MIAMI evening host KIMBA shared the honors as one of three finalists for "Best Local Market Personality" and was the sole U.S. recipient in this category. HEART 106.2's EMMA B was the Gold Medal award winner; BOB STRONG of ENGLAND's TOWN 102 took the Bronze.
