MAPLETON COMMUNICATIONS Alternative KMBY/MONTEREY-SALINAS-SANTA CRUZ has signed up with LOS ANGELES-based TRIPLE M/SIDNEY-MELBOURNE radio personality BYRON COOKE to run his "IMPORT X" show on SATURDAY mornings from 8-10a. KMBY becomes the first station in America to air the show hosted by BYRON and his fiance CRISSY WHALIN. They continue to host the "IMPORT EXPORT" version on FRIDAY nights on TRIPLE M in AUSTRALIA from LOS ANGELES.
"SANTA CRUZ X listeners expect their station to get on new music and hot shows first, so we are really excited to be breaking `IMPORT X' on American Alternative Rock radio," says KMBY PD KENNY ALLEN. "BYRON and CRISSY bring us unique content from all over the world and they have an awesome chemistry together on air. There is definitely a big future for the show and the two of them here in the US."
