  JERRY SHARELL steps up to remind us THE SOCIETY OF SINGERS' 16th ELLA AWARDS are scheduled for MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 at the BEVERLY HILTON INTERNATIONAL BALLROOM in BEVERLY HILLS.
  Scheduled to appear this year are MELISSA ETHERIDGE, JOHNNY MATHIS, SMOKEY ROBINSON and the BENJAMIN WRIGHT ORCHESTRA. This year’s special guest and honoree is GLADYS KNIGHT. THE SOCIETY OF SINGERS was started in 1984 by GINNY MANCINI with a mission to provide emergency financial aid to professional singers in need. It also awards 20 vocal scholarships to needy/talented youngsters.
