LYCOS' 5th annual list of the most popular talk radio personalities based on web searches using the LYCOS search engine has a familiar face at the top: HOWARD STERN leads all hosts again, as he has for every year of the poll's existence. STERN gets eight times more searches than any other host, and SIRIUS SATELLITE RADIO searches are up 1,300 percent, with half of STERN searches also specifying SIRIUS.
The top 10 also includes RUSH LIMBAUGH (also second last year), TOM JOYNER (up from 7th), BOB AND TOM (dropping from 3rd), MICHAEL SAVAGE (up one place from 6th), DR. LAURA SCHLESSINGER (up from 8th), ART BELL (down from 4th), BILL O'REILLY (jumping from 13th), LARRY KING (up from 14th), and OPIE AND ANTHONY (up from 16th).
After a huge jump in last year's survey, SEAN HANNITY dropped back 44%, down from 5th to 11th, ahead of newcomer JANEANE GAROFALO, followed by LAURA INGRAHAM (up all the way from 28th), new entrants DAVID LEE ROTH and DON AND MIKE, PAUL HARVEY (off from 11th), TOM LEYKIS (down from 12th), newcomer KIM KOMANDO, MANCOW MULLER (off 109% and down from 9th), and TAVIS SMILEY (up from 29th).
