THE GRAND OLE OPRY returns to CARNEGIE HALL on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14th to celebrate it's 80th birthday. The show is sold out but fans will have a chance to see it airs as a two-hour special on GREAT AMERICAN COUNTRY (GAC) in MARCH 2006. The star studded evening will include performances by TRISHA YEARWOOD, ALAN JACKSON, VINCE GILL, TRACE ADKINS, ALISON KRAUSS, BRAD PAISLEY, BILL ANDERSON, LITTLE JIMMY DICKENS, RICKY SKAGGS, CHARLEY PRIDE and MARTINA McBRIDE.
This will mark only the third time the OPRY has been performed at CARNEGIE HALL, beginning in 1947 when ERNEST TUBB and MINNIE PEARL performed on the famed stage. In 1961 PEARL led another contingent of OPRY members to THE BIG APPLE that included PATSY CLINE, GRANDPA JONES, BILL MONROE, the JORDANAIRES, JIM REEVES, MARTY ROBBINS and FARON YOUNG.
