ALL ACCESS is saddened to report that KURT FARMER died unexpectedly THURSDAY (8/2) in DAYTON following some health issues.
FARMER was one of the original engineers who put WDAO/DAYTON on the air in the mid-'60s; it was the first FM station in AMERICA to program exclusively to African-Americans. Besides WAVI/WDAO, he also engineered at WCIN-AM and WOKV/HAMILTON-CINCINNATI, WZIP/CINCINNATI and WDJX/DAYTON, among others.
He is survived by his wife, BONNIE, and daughters ABBEY and LIBBY.
