ESPN RADIO names ESPN VP/Remote Production MO DAVENPORT as SVP/GM. DAVENPORT, based at the network's BRISTOL, CT headquarters. DAVENPORT will oversee all aspects of the radio network's operations, including talk programming, event play-by-play coverage, podcasts and other online content, commentators and production, as well as distribution, ad sales and marketing initiatives for ESPN RADIO’s 700 affiliated stations and five owned stations.
In addition, WEPN-A (1050 ESPN)/NEW YORK Pres./GM TIM MCCARTHY and WMVP-A (ESPN 1000)/CHICAGO GM JIM PASTOR have added Regional GM titles, with MCCARTHY overseeing WEAE-A (ESPN RADIO 1250)/PITTSBURGH as well as WEPN, and PASTOR adding oversight of KSPN-A (710 ESPN)/LOS ANGELES and KESN (ESPN 103.3 FM)/DALLAS.
"As we seek to fulfill our mission of serving sports fans via an increasing number of platforms, we need leaders who demonstrate vision and passion for what they do, and MO's leadership experiences at ESPN make him exceptionally qualified to lead not only a very talented radio network team, but also interact with all the moving parts of ESPN to maximize radio as a business for our company," said SVP/Production, Business Divisions TRAUG KELLER. "In JIM PASTOR and TIM MCCARTHY we have two industry leaders who will help our station group, which recently came under our stewardship from ABC RADIO, grow to new heights in both audience and revenue."
