INTERNATIONAL HARVESTERS FOR CHRIST EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION INC. gets CRTC approval to upgrade its Religion CITA/MONCTON, NB from a low-power 50-watt station at 105.9 FM to a class A station with 880 watts at 105.1 FM.
The move was necessitated when the CBC applied to move its CBA-A/MONCTON to 106.1 FM, a move that would put CITA, presently an unprotected LPFM, off the air without a change in frequency. The Commission ruled that the upgrade was not a "back-door" way for the applicant to get a full-power station without the usual comparative process, but was a necessity because of the CBC's application.
