AMERICAN MEDIA SERVICES-INTERNET has appointed SCOTT JOHNSON Dir./Programming, where he'll oversee all of the company’s Internet and HD Radio content. Previously a CLEAR CHANNEL RVP, JOHNSON’s primary responsibility will be to fine-tune the 50-plus formats already available, and to develop new formats to offer to radio stations and other businesses and organizations.
"Since we began building our library of programming formats earlier this year we've been looking for just the right person who had the experience and vision to build out our network of audio content," AMSi Pres./CEO REED BUNZEL commented upon making the announcement. "SCOTT JOHNSON without question is that person. He brings to AMSi a wealth of knowledge of the radio business as well as great familiarity with the programming process, and I'm confident he will be critical to our growth as we continue to break new ground in the digital content space."
"This move to AMSi represents a huge opportunity," JOHNSON said. "I'm very thankful for the chance to work with REED as we develop new and exciting formats and help clients take advantage of the coming WiMax boom. In-car and handheld streaming Internet will take radio to its next great era and I'm proud to join a team that’s on the leading-edge of seeing and developing that bright, new future."
JOHNSON will remain based in CHARLESTON; he can be contacted at sjohnson@ams.fm.
