It took a few years, but CLEAR CHANNEL Top 40 WDCG (G-105)/RALEIGH-DURHAM finally gets its license renewal, as the FCC rejects several informal objections arising from the "BOB AND MADISON" morning show's comments on SEPTEMBER 22nd and 23rd, 2003 when they ripped bicyclists and suggested motorists run them off the road or throw bottles at them.
The comments drew seven objections to the station's license renewal; the Commission, in denying the objections, noted that "no local court of competent jurisdiction has found that any of the material aired over WDCG(FM) met the 'clear and present danger' test" set forth in BRANDENBURG V. OHIO that defines advocacy of illegal action as speech "directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action."
