CLEAR CHANNEL Talk WLW-A/CINCINNATI host BILL CUNNINGHAM apologized in person to CINCINNATI REDS outfielder ADAM DUNN WEDNESDAY for saying that DUNN played "drunk" in a game in PITTSBURGH.
CUMMINGHAM, who is taking over PREMIERE RADIO NETWORKS' syndicated SUNDAY night slot being vacated by MATT DRUDGE, showed up in the REDS clubhouse to apologize for his comments from last FRIDAY's WLW show, on which he said DUNN was drunk when he misplayed a ball and also missed a base in the fourth inning, costing the REDS two runs. CUNNINGHAM said that DUNN "looks like a monkey with a football in left field" and suggested that DUNN would have failed a breathalyzer test. The host said that the comments were a joke and hyperbole, but DUNN took the comments more seriously, prompting the apology.
