  The SOCIETY OF ENVIRONMENTAL JOURNALISTS have awarded their 6th Annual Awards for Reporting on the Environment to XM SATELLITE RADIO for Outstanding Beat/In-Depth Reporting, Radio and THE CALIFORNIA REPORT for Outstanding Story, Radio .
  XM's award went to BOB EDWARDS, ANDY DANYO, and GEOFFREY REDICK for a documentary, "EXPLODING HERITAGE," that examined the coal industry's effect on surrounding communities, and THE CALIFORNIA REPORT won for a report on overcrowded prisons and their creation of water-quality law violations.
