Twenty-six years after BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN AND THE E. STREET BAND last played SAN DIEGO, LINCOLN FINANCIAL MEDIA Alternative KBZT (FM 94/9) is asking fans to sign a petition to persuade them to return to the city during the tour for the new album, "Magic."
KBZT PD GARETT MICHAELS pointed out, "BRUCE currently has dates announced on OCTOBER 28th in LOS ANGELES and NOVEMBER 2nd in ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA. We’re hoping there’s a window in which he can squeeze in a SAN DIEGO show, and we want fans to encourage him by signing the petition."
The petition can be signed online at www.fm949sd.com or at KBZT station events until throughout this month. It will be sent to SPRINGSTEEN's manager, JON LANDAU, in hopes of adding a tour stop in SAN DIEGO.
It's not often you see a petition for SPRINGSTEEN from an Alternative station. FM 94/9 claims to be the first Rock station to officially add THE BOSS' "Radio Nowhere." Listeners are giving it high marks as one of SPRINGSTEEN’s best songs in years.
SAN DIEGO is also name-checked in one of SPRINGSTEEN's most famous songs, "Rosalita." The lyric says: "I know a pretty little place in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA DOWN SAN DIEGO way, There’s a little café where they play guitars all night and day."
