On the heels of POLK AUDIO and RCS offering technology to enable consumers to tag songs heard off HD radio for purchase on iTUNES, JUMP2GO, Inc. is now offering its "Go Commerce" service to support APPLE's Radio Tagging Feature for HD Radio & RDS equipped radio stations. Go Commerce is the sole provider of tagging technology compatible with iTunes, which is available immediately and will be accessible to an even greater number of radio stations nationwide.
"JUMP2GO's Go Commerce service generates revenue for stations from HD Radio Tagging, RDS radio tagging and iTunes fulfillment on radio station websites," said JUMP2GO founder/CTO ALLEN HARTLE. "This exciting development now enables terrestrial radio to directly support and interact with the very successful iPod and iTunes product lines. With our proprietary technology, JUMP2GO is uniquely qualified to be the sole provider of HD Radio Tagging services, in addition to our own patented pending solution for FM RDS and the station websites."
Successful testing of the Go Commerce tagging system took place in AUGUST at ENTERCOM Alternative KNDD (The End)/SEATTLE, sister Country KBWF (The Wolf), and CUMULUS AAA KFOG/SAN FRANCISCO.
According to a JUMP2GO's spokesperson, unlike the HD Importer, where programmers have to collect iTunes song IDs and manually type them in to be recognized by the HD Importer, the Go Commerce service is completely automated.
