The CANADIAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE's CALGARY STAMPEDERS have inked a new multi-year deal to continue with game broadcasts on CORUS Talk CHQR-A/CALGARY. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The station has carried STAMPEDERS play-by-play for 16 years. MARK STEPHEN and GREG PETERSON continue to call the action with BILLY POWERS, JOCK WILSON, and PETER WATTS handling pre- and post-game and halftime shows.
"The STAMPEDERS have had a long and successful relationship with AM770 CHQR," said STAMPEDERS Managing Partner/President and Alternate Governor TED HELLARD. "We are very pleased that we have extended this partnership long term. In particular, we look forward to hearing MARK STEPHEN and his crew in continuing to provide our fans with the CFL's finest game broadcast."
"We are proud to continue our long-standing partnership with the CALGARY STAMPEDERS," said CORUS/CALGARY GM GARRY MCKENZIE. "STAMPEDERS fans tuned to CHQR for countless games, history-making plays and the broadcast of two STAMPEDER Grey Cup Championships. This partnership builds on our commitment to serve our faithful listeners."
