Countdown To Showdown As Carr's WRKO Pact Nears End

The war over HOWIE CARR enters a new phase this week with the expiration of his contract at ENTERCOM Talk WRKO-A/BOSTON on WEDNESDAY. The BOSTON HERALD's JESSICA HESLAM reports that CARR's lawyer BRET COHEN told her "WRKO has said they plan to file papers to enjoin HOWIE from moving to (GREATER MEDIA Talk) WTKK" and that CARR and COHEN will fight any attempt to get an injunction. Neither WRKO nor WTKK commented to HESLAM on COHEN's statement.

HESLAM also notes that CARTER BROADCASTING Talk WCRN-A/WORCESTER, which had been carrying CARR's show in syndication, is replacing him TODAY with local host HANK STOLZ and expanding morning host (and former WRKO morning co-host) PETER BLUTE an extra hour.
