UME Ups Sujata Murthy To SVP/PR

UNIVERSAL MUSIC ENTERPRISES has promoted SUJATA MURTHY from VP to SVP/Public Relations. She will be responsible for overseeing all publicity campaigns as well as artist relations for UMe projects, as well as oversee the catalogs of artists such as NIRVANA, JOHNNY CASH, BB KING, THE POLICE, ELTON JOHN, THE WHO, BOB MARLEY and CAT STEVENS.

MURTHY will also be responsible for campaigns for UME label New Door Records, with such artists as SMOKEY ROBINSON, THE TEMPTATIONS, WILLIAM TELL, BILLY BOB THORNTON, MARTY STUART, JOE COCKER, and RAUL MALO.

"Publicity is a crucial element in our strategy to market the world’s leading music catalog. This is an important role and SUJATA’s accomplishments here have earned her this elevation to senior vice president status," stated UME GM MIKE DAVIS.
