CLEAR CHANNEL Modern AC KYSR (STAR 98.7)/LOS ANGELES re-positions as "L.A. & ORANGE COUNTY'S MODERN ADULT STATION." The station is currently running jockless.
CLEAR CHANNEL/LOS ANGELES VP/Programming MICHAEL MARTIN told ALL ACCESS, "I came back to L.A. to have fun and dammit thats what were going to do. We have just defined the lanes of MYfm and STAR clearer than they have ever been. On these two stations its ALL about the music ... what a concept."
KYSR PD CHARESE FRUGE said, "We are continuing on the road we began with the APRIL, 2006 re-launch as 'TODAY'S MUSIC ALTERNATIVE."
KYSR had some fun at 10a this morning, playing mostly '90s Alternative artists for two hours.
Here is what STAR played in the 10a hour:
PEARL JAM/Jeremy
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/Trippin' On A Hole ...
JANE'S ADDICTION/Jane Says
NIRVANA/Smells Like Teen Spirit
RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS/Give It Away
U2/Vertigo
PEARL JAM/Black
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/Plush
NINE INCH NAILS/Closer
PEARL JAM/EvenflowAt noon, STAR returned to regular programming with an updated grunge library and four new songs per hour including the previous hot currents, such as LIFEHOUSE, LINKIN PARK, PINK, PLAIN WHITE T'S, DAUGHTRY, AMY WINEHOUSE, FALL OUT BOY, THE FRAY, THE KILLERS, and NICKELBACK.
In other station news, FRUGE has also enlisted morning show Producer BRIAN HOLT to assist her with music duties and record calls. BRIAN can be reached at (818) 566-4655.
