Connecticut Sportscaster Bill Gonillo Dies

Condolences to family and friends of former WELI-A/NEW HAVEN sportscaster and longtime CONNECTICUT TV sports broadcaster BILL GONILLO, who was found dead at his WOODBRIDGE, CT home SUNDAY at 44, according to the NEW HAVEN REGISTER. A diabetic, he was known to have suffered from bouts of diabetic shock.
GONILLO had served as Sports Director at CABLEVISION's NEWS 12 CONNECTICUT for the last 12 years and previously called YALE football and anchored on NBC affiliate WVIT (TV) (NBC30)/HARTFORD. He also anchored pre- and post-game coverage of HARTFORD WHALERS and BOSTON CELTICS games on WTWS-TV/NEW LONDON and WTXX (TV)/WATERBURY-HARTFORD.
