Man Falls To Death From WGBN-A Tower

DANIEL PLANTS, 51, fell from a radio tower in EAST DEER TOWNSHIP, PA, reports WPXI-TV/PITTSBURGH. He had recently finished repainting a 400-foot-tall tower and was in the process of tearing down a shorter tower of 225 feet that was damaged by spring weather.

PTDC Gospel WGBN-A owned the tower. REV. LORAN MANN works for the station and talked about the man.

"He's been in the business 30 plus years and all the stations around town know of him. He has a wonderful reputation. He's a great person of this order, this discipline. He did the thing he loved," MANN said.

Police said PLANTS was wearing a safety harness, but it may not have been attached to the tower.
