MINNESOTA PUBLIC RADIO's parent AMERICAN PUBLIC MEDIA GROUP continues its expansion into new markets, buying noncommercial Contemporary Christian WMCU (89.7 SPIRIT FM)/MIAMI and translator W270AD/WEST PALM BEACH from TRINITY INTERNATIONAL FOUNDATION, INC. for $20 million. The station is flipping to Classical TODAY under an affiliation agreement.
In other deals filed with the FCC, COVENANT NETWORK is selling FM translator W272BU/CHAPIN, IL to MORGAN COUNTY BROADCASTING COMPANY, INC. for $5,000, while MONTY C. STRATTON is transferring FM translator K244DU/ST. GEORGE, UT to PATRICIA J. YOUNG for no consideration.
And CREATIVE EDUCATIONAL MEDIA CORP., INC. is selling W273BL/AKRON and W291BV/SOLON, OH to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $5,082.77; the AKRON translator will rebroadcast EMF's AIR ONE programming from KHRI/HOLLISTER, CA via W215BS/HINCKLEY, OH, while the SOLON translator will carry the AIR ONE programming of WCVJ/JEFFERSON, OH.
