BARRY WOOD's BALDWIN BROADCASTING COMPANY sells Adult Hits WAVH (106.5 THE PIRATE)/DAPHNE-MOBILE, AL to BIGLER BROADCASTING CO. for $3.6 million, including an time brokerage agreement and loan before closing. The station has been the subject of an aborted sale from bankruptcy, first to CUMULUS, and then to STYLES MEDIA GROUP, in which an initial sale to CUMULUS was terminated in 2004, and a sale to STYLES was halted by a higher CUMULUS bid which CUMULUS later renounced, resulting in a lawsuit by WOOD against CUMULUS.
In other deals filed with the FCC, CHRISTIAN EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION is selling new noncommercial FM WRFE/CHESTERFIELD, SC to POSITIVE ALTERNATIVE RADIO, INC. for $350,000 if the station remains at its present class A facility and $500,000 if the station's application to increase to a class C2 is approved. The deal includes a time brokerage agreement before closing.
RADIO LAYNE, LLC is selling the construction permit for KDJF/DELTA JUNCTION-FAIRBANKS, AK to TANANA VALLEY TELEVISION COMPANY for $173,000 cash. The station has filed for a change of city of license to ESTER, AK.
J.A.R.C. BROADCASTING, INC. is selling Classic Country WLSC-A/LORIS, SC to BANANA JACK MURPHY PRODUCTIONS, LLC for $100,000.
And CLARK ATLANTA UNIVERSITY sells FM translator W250BC/RIVERDALE, GA (just south of ATLANTA) to EXTREME MEDIA GROUP, LLC for $100,000.
