Gap To Buy Stations In 13 Markets From Clear Channel

GAP BROADCASTING has stepped in to buy 57 stations in 13 markets from CLEAR CHANNEL, some of which were originally part of a $45.7 million sale to BLUE POINT MEDIA that never closed. The new deal, with price unannounced, includes stations in DULUTH, MN; CASPER, CHEYENNE, and LARAMIE, WY; BURLINGTON, IA; BILLINGS, BOZEMAN, MISSOULA, and SHELBY, MT; RICHLAND-PASCO-KENNEWICK (TRI-CITIES) and YAKIMA, WA; and POCATELLO and TWIN FALLS, ID. The stations are being acquired by new GAP subsidiary GAP WEST, with former NEXTMEDIA Pres./COO SKIP WELLER named President of the new company and based in DENVER. GAP WEST will commence operating the stations under an LMA before closing.
The stations originally slated to go to BLUE POINT included KID-A & F/IDAHO FALLS; KLLP/CHUBBUCK, ID; KPKY & KWIK-A/POCATELLO; KEZJ, KLIX-A & KLIX-F/TWIN FALLS, ID; KKCB, KLDJ & WEBC-A/DULUTH; KBMX/PROCTOR, MN; KBUR-A & KGRS/BURLINGTON, IA; KBKB-A & F/FT. MADISON, IA; KBBB, KBUL-A, KCTR & KKBR/BILLINGS; KMHK/HARDIN, MT; KZMY, KMMS & KMMS-F/BOZEMAN, MT; KISN/BELGRADE, MT; KPRK-A & KXLB/LIVINGSTON, MT; KYSS & KGVO-A/MISSOULA, MT; KLCY-A/EAST MISSOULA, MT; KLTC/SUPERIOR, MT; KBAZ & KLYQ-A/HAMILTON, MT; KSEN-A & KZIN/SHELBY, MT; KTWO-A, KMGW, KTRS, KWYY, and KKTL/CASPER, WY; KLEN/CHEYENNE, WY; KIGN/BURNS, WY; KOWB-A and KCGY/LARAMIE, WY; KRVK/MIDWEST, WY; and KGAB-A/ORCHARD VALLEY, WY. The additional stations in the deal include KOLW, KEYW, KFLD-A, KXRX,and KORD-F/RICHLAND-PASCO-KENNEWICK and KDBL, KATS, KFFM, KIT, KQS, and KUTI/YAKIMA.
