Sports talk host BO MATTINGLY can continue to host his new ARKANSAS statewide syndicated radio show after a judge rejected NEXSTAR BROADCASTING's attempt to get a restraining order keeping MATTINGLY off the air.
The show, which airs on CUMULUS Talk KFAY-A/FAYETTEVILLE, AR, launched after MATTINGLY quit NEXSTAR's NBC affiliate KNWA-TV/ROGERS-FAYETTEVILLE JULY 9, and NEXSTAR is attempting to enforce a one-year noncompete that it says prevents MATTINGLY from working for a competitor in the LITTLE ROCK, FORT SMITH, FAYETTEVILLE, SPRINGDALE, ROGERS and BENTONVILLE areas.
The NORTHWEST ARKANSAS TIMES reports that Fourth Circuit Judge MARY ANN GUNN ruled that NEXSTAR failed to show that MATTINGLY's move would cause it irreparable damage and said that the matter should be handled in arbitration.
