Noncommercial WBEZ/CHICAGO's "EIGHT FORTY-EIGHT" news magazine moves up and gets shorter, according to the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES' ROBERT FEDER, who reports that the shpw will move to9a weekdays and lose a half hour to run for an hour beginning DECEMBER 5. The BBC's "THE WORLD" moves from 7p to 2p.
The station is also adding the BBC NEWS HOUR at 10a, KCRW/LOS ANGELES' syndicated "TO THE POINT" at 1p, and the CBC's "AS IT HAPPENS" at 7p. Off the schedule are "NEWS AND NOTES WITH ED GORDON," "BBC OUTLOOK," and "OUTFRONT."
FEDER also reports that PLANNED PARENTHOOD/CHICAGO Communications Mgr. CYNTHIA HANSEN has joined WBEZ and CHIACGO PUBLIC RADIO as Public Relations Mgr.
