The FCC has approved the sale of three stations in the SANTA FE, NM area to HUTTON BROADCASTING, LLC. Four listeners objected to the sales of Chill KLBU (BLU 102)/PECOS-SANTA FE (from BLU MEDIA, LLC), AAA KVSF-F/PECOS-SANTA FE (from JAMES S. BUMPOUS d/b/a YELLOW DOG RADIO), and AAA KBAC/LAS VEGAS-SANTA FE (from EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION, a spinoff from an earlier purchase from CLEAR CHANNEL) on the basis of the listeners' appreciation of the stations' formats. The complainants also asked the Commission to find different buyers for the stations, something the FCC is not empowered to do.
The Commission also issued proposed fines of $7,000 to B&E BROADCASTING, INC. (WSLV-A/ARDMORE, TN) and $500 each to COMMUNITY CHRISTIAN BROADCASTING (K294AI/SCANDIA, KS) and CONCORDIA CHRISTIAN RADIO ASSOCIATION (K249CU/CONCORDIA, KS) for late license renewal applications and unauthorized operation, but granted all three stations' license renewals.
