DECEMBER 13 is the day the SENATE COMMERCE COMMITTEE will hold the confirmation hearing for DEBORAH TATE, the nominee to occupy the Republican FCC seat left vacant by the departure of former Chairman MICHAEL POWELL earlier this year, and MICHAEL COPPS, renominated for another term in obe of the two Democratic seats on the Commission.
TATE is a director of the TENNESSEE REGULATORY AUTHORITY and has served on the FCC's Federal-State Joint Conference on Advanced Telecommunications Services.
