If rumors of a format flip at CBS Talk WCKG (105.9 FREE FM)/CHICAGO come true, the CHICAGO BULLS say they're prepared to make a quick move to a new radio flagship if necessary.
BULLS EVP of Business Operations STEVE SCHANWALD tells the CHICAGO TRIBUNE's ED SHERMAN, "We'll have to wait and see exactly what happens with WCKG. Will they change formats as rumored? If so, how soon would this change occur, what would the new format be, and how would it affect us, if at all?" SCHANWALD adds that he "can confirm that there is great interest out there in acquiring our property should that opportunity present itself."
The BULLS moved from ESPN Sports WMVP-A (ESPN 1000) to WCKG last season, with the team buying the time from the station and selling its own ads. Rumors of a flip to Spanish or a Rock format have been floating in the market for a while, and CBS registered the domain 1059theblaze.com on OCTOBER 12th.
